Screen Saver

When it comes to personal work, I’ve often found it hard to create without a clear “why.” Without a purpose or brief behind it, I tend to overthink the idea before it even begins. So with some free time, I flipped the question. Instead of asking “why?” I asked “why not?” Rather than searching for the perfect concept, I used the first thing that caught my eye as the prompt: “DEFINE YOUR OWN PATH.” A principle from a list of mantras by one of my favourite studios that I’d set as my laptop screensaver. That became the starting point for this project. Instead of aiming for something clean, neat and systemised, I deliberately leaned the other way. Mixed typography, textures, non-uniform shapes and loose layouts. Less polished, more instinctive. Maybe the best way to start creating is to stop asking why… and simply ask why not!
